The Disneyland Resort has announced multiple new venues and refurbishments for the Downtown Disney shopping district in 2018. Taking a cue from the recently revitalized Disney Springs shopping district at the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney plans to add new retail, entertainment, and dining experiences to the outdoor complex.
First, Ballast Point will be an all-new venue serving craft beer to the resort's older visitors. This will be the company's first Orange County location, and will serve unique Southern-California inspired salads, flatbreads, and entrees to be paired with its signature drinks. A tasting room, outdoor beer garden, and on-site brewery also be featured in this new location.
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer is a new restaurant that will will also add its first California location to Downtown Disney, and will serve its specialty burgers and signature CrazyShake milkshakes to hungry guests.
On the retail end, Disney Home will be a new home goods merchandise location with a Disney twist. The store is expected to open this month, and will replace the former D-Street venue.
But, existing favorites will also receive some special treatment. The flagship World of Disney merchandise store will be reimagined into a "new, dynamic and distinctly Disney retail environment". The work will be done in phases throughout 2018, and remain open for guests in the meantime. Additionally, the existing Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria dining location will receive an expanded outdoor patio and updated kitchen towards the end of this year.
The Disneyland Resort is heavily investing outside of its park gates to upgrade the resort as a whole, and we can't wait to see all the new experiences open for guests!
