ICON Park in Orlando has announced two new record-breaking attractions for the 2020 season!
First, the new 400 foot tall Orlando Gyro Drop Tower will be the world's tallest free-standing drop tower! The ride vehicle will gyrate during the initial climb, which will give riders a 360 degree view of the surrounding Orlando metropolitan area. Riders will then experience a 350 foot pure freefall back down to Earth at 75 miles per hour.
Additionally, the new Orlando Slingshot, the tallest of its kind in the world, will catapult riders straight up towards the sky. The tower itself is 300 feet tall, but riders will reach a max height of 450 feet! This attraction will also feature an innovative dual-loading system that will reduce wait times for those in line.
These two new rides will join the existing Orlando Starflyer and Observation Wheel attractions that are already open at the park. That's all for now from Theme Park Overload!
