Universal Studios Hollywood has continued its trend of limited time in-park events with the announcement of the new Lunar New Year celebration for 2018! The event's epicenter will be located in the Universal Plaza section of the park, where guests will be greeted by red Chinese lanterns and plum blossom Wishing Trees. A new Jada Palace Performance stage will complement the scenery by providing entertainment for those passing by.
DreamWorks animation studios' popular Kung Fu Panda franchise will have a heavy presence at this special event. The Dragon Warrior Training Show will be performed on the Jada stage, and feature an interactive martial arts demonstration with Master Po and friends. Animators from DreamWorks will also share this stage, and feature drawing demos for various Kung Fu Panda characters. Mr. Ping's Noodle Stop, a new pop-up dining location, will continue the experience by providing specialty Asian fare and a selection of hot and cold beverages.
But, Kung Fu Panda won't be the only franchise featured at the event. A Mandarin-speaking Megatron from Transformers will be at the event, and have real-time conversations with nearby guests. The Minions from the Despicable Me films will be joining in on the fun too, and will don traditional Lunar New Year attire while meeting with guests
