The best time of the year is now in full swing at the Disneyland Resort, and we headed to both parks to see everything new for this holiday season!
The holiday season has officially begun at the Disneyland Resort!
Over in California Adventure, the returning Festival of Holidays event is now open for guests to enjoy. This event celebrates diverse cultural traditions from around the world, and includes Navidad, Diwali, Kwanza, Hanukkah, and Three Kings Day.
Speciality food and drink options are available at twelve different food stands scattered around California Adventure park. Guests can pick up a "Tasting Passport" guide booklet with information on each stand, and earn a special stamp after visiting each location.
The foods being offered are very unique and tasty! Pictured above is the the Joy to the Sauce stand menu.
The festival also includes exclusive entertainment options, which brings music from the different culture to life!
Paradise Garden Grill, next to Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta, is also serving specialty cuisine for those who want to eat at a traditional quick service restaurant.
Moving on, decorations for the upcoming Disney movie "Coco" have also popped up in "A Bug's Land".
The movie's cultural theme ties in nicely with the nearby Festival of Holidays celebration.
Thor: Ragnarok is still offering extended sneak peaks over in Hollywood Land. A new offering should come soon, as the movie is now playing in theaters.
Cars Land is also getting into the holiday spirit!
The new Mater's Jingle Jamboree is now open. This seasonally re-themed attraction has new holiday toons to celebrate this time of the year.
The new Luigi's Joy to the Whirl seasonal attraction next door also has special holiday music to celebrate.
Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout unfortunately didn't get any new tweaks for its first Holiday season.
Over at Paradise Pier, this view is about to look a whole lot different. Most items on the pier will close on January 8th, 2018 to transform into the new Pixar Pier.
California Screamin will be re-themed to The Incredibles and become the "Incredicoaster". The re-imagined attraction will get a new loading station and trains, along with unannounced show effects and elements. The actual coaster layout itself will remain unchanged.
These boardwalk games and the nearby Mickey's Fun Wheel will also be re-themed to characters from various Pixar films, which will be considered one of the four new "neighborhoods" within the pier. The three other main "neighborhoods" are The Incredibles, Toy Story, and Inside Out.
This section of the park always has low foot traffic, so the revitalization will likely fix this issue going forward.
This spot will be the Inside Out neighborhood, which will include a new family attraction and open later than other elements of the new pier.
Here is an artist rendering of the new land for reference.
Over at Disneyland, the holiday spirit is alive and well!
Santa Claus is greeting guests over in Critter Country by Splash Mountain's exit.
Spooky!
We also stopped by Pirates of the Caribbean for one last look at the auction scene. The ride will be modified during its refurbishment next year, and will replace the bride auction scene pictured above with a new storyline.
On the outskirts of Frontierland, construction from the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's End land is now peeking through the rocks.
This will be one of the entryways into the new land when it opens in 2019. A solid wooden fence has been erected to block all in-park views of construction.
We can't wait!
Moving to nighttime, It's a Small World Holiday has received its annual lighting package!
The projection mapping mini-show, which runs on intervals throughout the night, provides some appreciated entertainment for those waiting in line to ride.
Inside, the attraction is all decked out with its holiday decor!
Right back at you, snowman!
The best time of the year has arrived at Disneyland!
