Welcome to Theme Park Overload! Construction on the new ProSlide Aqualoop named "Double Dare" has finished, and it's opening June 2, 2012! (If you want to read a previous post about the new ride, click here.) The ride will be a twin racing slides, meaning their will be two separate slides of the same new ride. You will start the ride by walking up the 7 stories of concrete stairs. Once at the top, you will be escorted to one of the capsules, one blue and the other orange. After stepping into the capsule, the clear glass will close and the floor will be dropped from beneath you. Here is a video of the same ride model from the Bonzai Pipeline at Six Flags St. Louis. The ride will be virtually identical to this one.
As you can see from the video, after being dropped you will go into a 360 degree inclined loop! An inclined loop is just like a regular vertical loop found on many coasters, except that an inclined loop is turned on its side. Here are some more shots of the ride from the park's Facebook page.
