New Details on Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom at Six Flags Great Adventure

Zumanjaro Drop of Doom

The new Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom drop tower ride coming to Six Flags Great Adventure in 2014 is SURE to strike terror into Park Guests next year! Packing a 90 MPH Freefall at a staggering 415 feet, it will take the title as the World's Tallest and Fastest Drop Tower! Theme Park Overload interviewed Six Flags Great Adventure Park Spokesperson Kristin Siebeneicher on all the nerve-racking details for this new ride, and here's what she said:

TPO: Thank you for speaking with Theme Park Overload today Kristin. First off, how many passengers will Zumanjaro carry on its Ride Vehicle for each cycle?

Kristin: Hello Nicholous, and no problem! Their will be 3 separate gondolas, holding 24 guests for each ride cycle.

TPO: Awesome. With a 415 foot drop, how many seconds will riders be in an actual freefall?

Kristin: We are estimating a freefall of about 10 seconds

TPO: On similar Intamin Drop Towers (*Cough* Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom *cough*) we saw a single cable that hoists all ride vehicles to the top at the same time. What will Zumanjaro's system be?

Kristin: All three towers will share one lift mechanism. They will drop independently.

TPO: Now that definitely adds to the fear factor! What type of restraints will we see on the ride vehicles?

Kristin: The seats will be form fitting and the restraint will be an over-the-shoulder harness that locks in place with a seat belt connecting the harness to the seat (otherwise known as a crotch strap).

TPO: Sounds like it'll be a highlight attraction for Amusement Parks in 2014, thanks Kristin!

Kristin: No problem Nicholous. We can't wait to have your readers take their first rides next Spring!
